I was out of the office for a few days because I had the opportunity
to attend the ASCE/AISC Student Steel Bridge Competition in Provo, Utah. I went
with the University of Michigan’s Steel Bridge Team, and we placed 9th
overall out of the 48 teams that qualified for the event. We were recognized with
third place in Display, and our construction team had a flawless build with no
drops or penalties. Teams from all over the world attended, and I would like to
congratulate École de Technologie Supérieure of Canada on their victory. More
info on the competition can be found on the National Student Steel Bridge Competition website and the AISC website.
Back at Ideal Contracting, I have been working with Michael on doing Takeoff on the Battery Lab Addition and a few other jobs, and we are going to learn how to use Prime Bid this week. I have already learned so much in the short time I have been here, and I can’t wait to see what I will be learning next!
