Week one at Ideal started by finishing up my orientation at the Detroit main office. During my orientation I was glad to meet fellow intern Riley. After our orientation we went out to lunch with Yesenia,Alex,and Linda. After lunch it was off to the Event Center. I was met by Austen Harris at the gate who introduced me to my supervisor Tim Kelly. Austen continued to show me around the project. I was amazed by what I had seen, the large steel structure that is to be the Little Caesars Arena. I am thankful for the opportunity and look forward to meeting the rest of the interns.
Here are a few pictures I had taken of the site. This is from the main level in to the lower bowl where they assemble large portions of the roof and set in place.
Here is a picture if a 90 ton crane that Ideal has on site doing most of the lifts. In this picture Ideal is lifting and placing railing for the stairwell.
This is a picture of where reinforcing rebar is set in place for the foundation of what is to be the main parking garage being built by Ideal.
